In today’s post I tell you all about the Vizcaya High Tea and my Synergy organic cotton maxi dress.
Vizcaya is basically one of only a handful of old world places in Miami. It is our mini Versailles by the sea. Having been to both places, I truly feel Vizcaya has the same opulent wonder. Just mix in a lot of limestone and killer waterfront views.
Synergy Organic Cotton Maxi Dress
Since Miami is KILLER hot all the time I was excited to wear my Synergy Organic Cotton Maxi Dress. It’s so breathable and comfortable even in the humid Miami heat. In case you’re wondering why I’m touching the above greenery, they are sensitive plants and the leaves close when touched. I had never seen so much in one place before I was giddy. In the gardens of Vizcaya they have these cave-like structures. In some parts inside water trickles down. The water and the whirling of the wind makes them rather cool inside. So there you have it…AIR CONDITIONER! A cool spot to escape the heat of the gardens and home.
Vizcaya High Tea
High tea at Vizcaya is the prefect Sunday event. Reservations must be made well in advanced. Boxed lunches, buffet luncheons and intimate tea parties are also available with advance reservation. To book, contact Paula Gooden at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 305-856-8189.
I totally recommend going for Mother’s Day or a day with the girls. It is such a cute experience. I do suggest going no earlier than 2PM so the area has shade. High Tea is outdoor on the balcony over the Vizcaya Cafe and Shop. I told hubs to make reservations for an early Mother’s Day for me. I hate celebrating holidays when everyone is, so I move them to more convenient dates. 😉 I had no idea what to expect, but as an avid tea drinker the house blend was fabulous. I loved it with milk and brown sugar. Hubs enjoyed his with honey. The treats included clotted cream for the scones, breads, jams, honey, lemons, and little jars filled with amazing. I believe they are constantly changing them, but we had tomato cream, egg salad, and tuna cranberry salad. All yummy! You’re encouraged to sip and snack slowly to enjoy yourself. It’s only a few tables at a time, so it’s not crowded and everyone is more relaxed. Someone is always refilling your cup. Entrance to Vizcaya is needed to go to High Tea, so we took the opportunity to walk around. Thanks to the hubs for being such a good sport and taking these photos.
