My Baby Jane in Brickell review is about to make you HUNGRY. Sorries.
Last week my sister (MiamiFoodAuthority) and I had the pleasure of attending and trying out Baby Jane in Brickell.
Baby Jane Brickell Review
This hipster style restaurant created a totally fun event, an unplugged lunch! They take away your phones and hand you a basket-o-fun. Each basket was filled with fun toy like an adult coloring book, play-doh, bubbles, slinky, etc. They even had a photographer there to take all the photos so we could just relax and actually ENJOY the meal. Imagine that!!!Special thanks to WorldRedEye for the photos. While the menus were cute, they were a little hard to read and faded. I get the whole trendy vintage vibe, but I see would like to read the menu.
First course was the Caesar salad. While it was good, it tasted more like a vinaigrette salad to me. I would have also liked to swap out the carrots for croutons.
Then we had the Duck Meat and Duck Fragua (Liver) Croquettes (Croqueta). These were AMAZING!!!!! We didn’t get a photo, but you can find one on their Yelp page I’m sure. I would most highly recommend these. Yum!
For drinks we had a Jane & Juice and a Bebito . Both drinks were finished off with some egg foam. That was a first for me. Now, I don’t drink. But to give a good review I made myself at least try these. Let me say I finished my drink. It didn’t have that much hated alcohol taste. So if you’re into good drinks with no nasty strong alcohol taste, these are good ones. And my sister assured me there was plenty of alcohol in them. (Thank you Uber!)
We tried the Steak Tartare and this dish blew my mind. I love GOOD raw steak. This is GREAT! Soooooo tasty and paired with delicious crusty bread. If you even sort of love steak tartare, this is a must have item.
The Bone Marrow and Vaca Frita was good. Sadly, it wasn’t very much vaca frita or bone marrow. It was enough for maybe two crusty bread slices. So not much there. If it had more vaca frita it would have been very worth it. Extremely tasty and well done dish, just small.
Our main dish was the fish of the day. It was perfectly cooked. They know what they are doing with their fish dishes. By the end of the meal I had to ask for my phone back. I was quickly getting withdrawal symptoms. lol
So the following are my cell phone photos.
This little cookie I think might be vegan or something. Either way it was like $4 and gooey and chewy.
This little dessert looks very unassuming. Like a strudel or pop-tart. DO NOT BE FOOLED…it is the most amazing dessert I’ve had in a long while. So warm and satisfying. THIS IS HOW YOU WANT TO END YOUR MEAL. Get this one!
So do yourself a favor and head out to Baby Jane in Brickell!
